Potato System (submitted by Gamillo at 09:38am EDT)

After some discussion amongst the officers, we've decided to introduce a simple Potato system to help us fairly distribute loot in ZG/AQ20 and wherever else we become capable of raiding in the future. For those of you who don't know what Potatoes are (I'm pretty sure we all know what they are) it's a system which lets people earn points to buy loot. This system is going to go into effect as off immediately, so it would be wise of you to read this post in its entirety. If there's something you're not quite sure about, chances are you'll understand within a few minutes of using the system outlined below.

When an item drops, the first thing that will happen is that an officer will decide upon a "minimum bid" for that particular item. When bidding begins, raid chat needs to remain clear of idle chat.

· Blue ZG/AQ/World Drop weapons, armour and accessories have a minimum bid of 3 Potatoes
· Purple class quest items have a minimum bid of 3 Potatoes
· Purple ZG/AQ weapons, armour and accessories have a minimum bid of 5 Potatoes
· Purple Molten Core accessories (not weapons and set items) have a minimum bid of 7 Potatoes*
· MC weapons have a minimum bid of 10 Potatoes*
· MC Set Items - Bracers - have a minimum bid of 5 Potatoes
· MC Set Items - Gloves, Shoulder and Boots - have a minimum bid of 7 Potatoes
· MC Set items - Helmet, Chest and Legs - have a minimum bid of 10 Potatoes
· BWL weapons have a minimum bid of 15 Potatoes
· BWL Set Items - Bracers and Belts - have a minimum bid of 7 Potatoes or 5 Potatoes if upgrading from Tier 1.
· BWL Set Items - Gloves, Shoulders and Boots - have a minimum bid of 10 Potatoes or 7 Potatoes if upgrading from Tier 1.
· BWL Set items - Helmet, Chest and Legs - have a minimum bid of 15 Potatoes or 10 Potatoes if upgrading from Tier 1.
· Legendary Items - Legendary items have a minimum bid of 30 Potatoes. Thunderfury Bindings cost 15 Potatoes each.

*Note there are several exceptions.

Weapons - Class Priorities
Ranged Weapons - Hunters
DPS Daggers - Rogues
2H Melee Weapons - Warriors
1H Weapons (except daggers) - Open to all classes

Guests/Trial members start raiding with 0 Potatoes.

How Bidding Operates
Once the master looter posts the minimum price for a particular item and class which has priority, bidding can begin. Let's say Bloodsoaked Pauldrons drop from Bloodlord. These are a blue armour piece, and warriors have priority to bid on them. The minimum bid for these is 3Potatoes. Any warrior interested in receiving these may make a starting bid of 3 Potatoes, the next person bidding may want to outbid another bidder and bids 4 Potatoes and so on until a stalemate has been reached and all other bidders apart from the highest bidder announce in raid chat that they "Pass". Let's say these go for 10 Potatoes, and there are 20 people in attendance for the kill. These 10 Potatoes is divided by the 20 attendee's such that each of them will receive 0.5 Potatoes each.

Negative Bidding
If an item has a minimum bid which no member can match, that item can be negatively bidded upon by one or more members/guests by simply stating "-3" where 3 is whatever ye olde minimum bid for that item is. Assuming only one person negatively bids, that person wins ye olde item. If multiple people negatively bid on an item, ye olde Potatoes of both parties will be looked at and ye olde highest will win; for example, a player with 7.2 Potatoes will win ye olde item over a player with 1.5 Potatoes and a player with -1.2 Potatoes will win over a player with -2.5 Potatoes and so on.

If a situation arises where a member and a guest negatively bid on an item, the item will go to a member by default. If two or more members and a guest art negatively bidding, only ye olde two members may negatively bid on ye olde item.

Coins/Bijou's/Cores
Coins, Bijou's, Cores and any other such items are collected by the master looter and stored in the raid group's bank until such time as they are needed.

Alts
Bringing along an alt to a 20 man raid is perfectly fine, but bringing one along for a 40 is subject to some restrictions. If your alt is coming along because we're short on a particular class, you're free to bid like any normal raid member. If, however, you're bringing your alt along simply for the sake of it and not your main, you won't be able to outbid members who are raiding with their main characters.

Forced Upgrades
While we really hate doing this, to prevent items from being sharded if they would benefit a member we may at our discretion force a member to bid on an item if it would likely benefit the raid group as a whole. We don't like doing this, but we also hate sharding items. Never save your Potatoes, eat them. Eating gives you better gear, gives the system back Potatoes and benefits the group as a whole.

Additional Points
· First time drops of recipes/plans etc. are automatically taken by a selected officer. The second time they dropped they may be rolled upon by all CoR members. This is to ensure that such recipes and plans which benefit the group as a whole remain in the group.
· You will only get Potatoes for a kill if you a present during that kill. If, for instance, you have to leave early, you'll only be awarded Potatoes for boss fights which you've attended.
· Bloodvine and Souldrite will also be looted by an officer and put in the bank until it's needed.
· If two or more people art bidding against one another and all parties involved hast exhausted their Potato Pool and remain tied with regards to how much they've bid (e.g. player A and player B hast both bidded 10 Potatoes for an item and neither party has more than 10 Potatoes) their Potatoes will be looked at and ye olde item will be given to ye olde player with ye olde highest amount of Potatoes. For example, if player A has 10.22 Potatoes and player B has 10.56 Potatoes, ye olde item will go to player B.
· Potatoes available cannot be rounded up to the nearest integer. If you have 13.99 Potatoes you can't bid 14.

Special Prices so far:
Thunderstrike - 3 Potatoes
Striker's Mark - 7 Potatoes
Gutgore Ripper - 9 Potatoes
Earthshaker - 7 Potatoes

Please observe that the officers have the right to refuse/force anyone to bid.
